Where women in wine explore, connect, and redefine the world of wine together
The wine world is changing — not only in where it is produced and consumed, but in how people connect within it.
New regions are emerging. Established regions are being redefined. And global recognition has not fully kept pace with these shifts.
At the same time, women in wine are seeking more than visibility. They are seeking connection — with each other, with new regions, and with opportunities to learn, travel, and grow together within a global context.
WIWE exists at the intersection of these needs.
It is a platform where women in wine come together across borders — to share knowledge, explore emerging wine regions, and engage with the wider industry in meaningful ways.
Some join WIWE to grow professionally. Others to discover new regions. Many come for both.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to elevate women in the wine sector, enhance wine education for women, and raise awareness about gender equality throughout the industry. After the inaugural WIWE in 2019 in Belgium and the Netherlands, followed by world-class editions in Georgia (2022), the United Kingdom (2023), Portugal (2024) and Hungary (2025) we brought WIWE to the international stage of ProWein in 2026 — shining a spotlight on the diversity, expertise, and creativity of women winemakers worldwide.
WHAT WE DO
WIWE is built on three connected layers:
CONNECTED JOURNEYS
We bring women in wine together across countries and cultures. Through shared travel, dialogue, and exchange, WIWE creates a global community that learns from each other — not from a distance, but on the ground, in real wine regions.
EMERGING REGIONS
We work inside wine regions in transition — places where identity is evolving and new voices are shaping what comes next. We explore how these regions are changing and who is driving that change.
GLOBAL OPPORTUNITY
We connect producers and professionals to international buyers, distributors, and industry leaders — where visibility becomes access and exchange becomes opportunity.
A GLOBAL PLATFORM IN MOTION
WIWE moves from region to region, building a living map of the evolving wine world.
Each edition brings together:
women in wine from across the globe
local producers and regional voices
international trade and industry leaders
Not just to observe change. But to experience it together.
Prowein
In March 2026, the Women in Wine Expo brought its global community to ProWein, the world’s leading trade fair for wine and spirits and a key marketplace for the international wine industry. By joining ProWein, WIWE strengthened its mission to elevate women in wine on a truly global stage — offering visibility, access, and meaningful connections across continents.
Masterclass ‘Her terroir, her story’
For the first time, WIWE was part of this global platform by curating a flagship Masterclass in Düsseldorf, dedicated to wines made by women worldwide. Set within the highly professional and international environment of ProWein, this masterclass offered a focused space to showcase the expertise, creativity, and diversity of women in the global wine industry. Visitors heard inspiring stories, learnt about cool-climate winemaking, and tasted a thoughtfully curated selection of wines crafted by women winemakers from across continents.

1,000+ professionals connected
30+ countries represented
Presence at ProWein
The Women in Wine Expo is a unique global network for women in the wine industry, providing a platform for women entrepreneurs to expand their knowledge and build their international businesses. Unlike other events, we focus specifically on the unique challenges and opportunities that women face in the wine industry.
This three-day event is designed to inspire and empower women in wine. It will highlight new trends and developments, showcase authentic wines from various countries, and introduce new names and perspectives.
The benefits of attending the Women in Wine Expo include:
- Embracing Diversity
- Discovering new tastes
- Opportunities to learn more about lesser known wine regions
- Networking with women wine professionals from around the world
In partnership with national wine organizations and wine companies, the Women in Wine Expo successfully brings together like-minded women for days filled with networking, education, fun, sisterhood, and business. Don’t just take our word for it—hear from some of our past participants about their experiences.
