In May 2027, WIWE brings its international community to Greece for The Aegean Edition. Three days of wine, connection, discovery and inspiration.
Thessaloniki is where Europe meets the Aegean: a city shaped by centuries of trade, culture and exchange, and a gateway to a wine region with deep roots and a new generation of women shaping its future.
For WIWE, it is a natural next step in our journey. We will bring together women from across the world of wine — winemakers, educators, importers, distributors, hospitality professionals, media and wine lovers — and connect them with the women, wines and stories of Greece and the wider Aegean region. There will be time to explore, taste and learn, but above all, there will be time to meet each other.
Because wherever WIWE goes, the destination is only part of the story. The people we bring together are what make it WIWE.
THE EXPERIENCE
Three days, each with its own character. From a relaxed first evening together to discovering Thessaloniki and the surrounding wine region, and finally a full day of conversations, learning and wine.

12 MAY, Meet & Greet
We begin with an evening of wine, conversation and new connections. Bring a bottle of wine you love to share with the group, meet fellow WIWE participants and settle into Thessaloniki over a light dinner and a glass of something good. No formal program, no presentations — just women from different corners of the wine world coming together and starting the conversation.
13 MAY, Discover Thessaloniki
A day beyond the conference room. Explore Thessaloniki, its culture and its food, and venture into the surrounding wine region to meet the people and taste the wines of the area. We want this day to be about experiencing the place - getting out into the region, discovering its stories and meeting the people who make Thessaloniki and Northern Greece such an interesting part of the wine world.
14 MAY, Connect & Learn
The heart of WIWE. A full day of keynotes, conversations and panels bringing together women from across the international wine world. And, of course, there will be wine. We'll close the day with an afternoon tasting featuring women winemakers from Greece and the wider region, alongside food, conversation and plenty of time to connect.
PORTO PALACE THESSALONIKI
At WIWE, we have always looked for places that are more than simply a venue. We like to bring our community together in unique, authentic places with a story of their own, places that become part of the experience and leave a lasting impression.
For the Aegean Edition, we found such a place in Porto Palace Thessaloniki.
Our home for 2027 is housed in a remarkable industrial building dating back to 1913. Built along the waterfront, the building has had many lives: it was later transformed into a tannery and, for decades, served as a storage facility. In 1994, it was recognised as a preserved structure and modern monument. After a careful transformation, it opened its doors as a five-star hotel in 2005.
We love that history.
The original industrial character is still part of Porto Palace today, alongside contemporary hospitality, generous event spaces and a rooftop overlooking the harbour and the Thermaic Gulf. The historic Grand Pietra Hall also preserves traces of the site's past, including remnants of the old coastal railway.
For us, it feels like the right place for WIWE. A building shaped by trade, movement and exchange becomes, in 2027, a meeting place for women from across the world of wine. From our first glass of wine on the rooftop to the conversations, tastings and conference day, Porto Palace will be the place where our WIWE community comes together.
